Are you looking for an adorable, healthy, happy, mellow, smart Golden Retriever puppy that will be a cherished member of your family? You came to the right place! We at Mountain Pine Goldens breed Classic Golden Retrievers, European Cream Golden Retrievers, and Hybrid (Classic/Cream mixed) Golden Retrievers.
We know that a Golden is a Golden is a Golden regardless of the color of their coat. With that said it is our experience that even though some say that all things are equal and there should be no distinction from the golden colored Golden from the cream colored Goldens, we have noticed and have read about differences.
Have you ever heard of a cream colored Golden as an AKC champion? There are International and European Champions (FCI) that are cream colored. A Golden being too dark or pale is classified as a fault with the AKC. Evidently not all things are as equal as some think. The creams are, reportedly, supposed to have a lower incidence of cancers and live a little longer. No one has been able to identify the genes or combination thereof that causes the cancers. Soooo since we cannot scientifically identify how cancers are passed on we have introduced the “cream” lines of Goldens with the more traditional golden colored Goldens (That we refer to as “Classic”) and are calling them “Hybrids”. Hopefully by crossing these different lines, we can obtain Goldens of color that will be less inclined to get the cancers that are prevalent within the breed.
We have read that the “Creams” are more intelligent. We have not noticed a significant difference. We have had many trainers tell us that the smartest and best looking goldens have came from us.
We focus on providing a beautiful & healthy companion that will also be intelligent and have a great disposition. We feed our boys and girls premium kibble and provide NuVet nutritional supplements. Pregnant and lactating moms get double so that the pups will also get a nutritional boost to help them get off to a better start. Only 8% of dogs receive an OFA excellent rating nationwide. Over half of our breeding adults have had an excellent rating on OFA hips or received Pennhip certifications that indicate they are above the 90 percentile mark.
We have noticed that our “Cream” and “Hybrid” pups tend to be a little more mellow than the “Classic” pups. Other than that and what we have read about the health differences all things are pretty much equal. Because of the generalized reference to pale/cream colored goldens as “English Cream”, or “European Cream” and since most of the cream colored dogs we have appear to have European ancestry, we will continue to refer to our dogs as “European Creams”. Likewise those dogs that have the more traditional looks and breeding associated with the more traditional coloring we will call them “Classic”. And our cross-breeding of the two we call “Hybrid”.

Our Golden Retrievers are family-raised on our farm in Colorado, with lots of play, attention to health, and love. We only have one or two litters a year so we can provide the highest quality of care for our dogs and puppies. Pups are vet well checked. We provide an initial health warrantee for the 1st five days for any health issues that are found by a licensed and qualified veterinarian. We also will provide a full refund for any genetic life threatening disease that befalls the pup before it’s 2nd birthday when validated by a licensed and qualified veterinarian.
